I’m partnering with a leading organisation that is looking for a Senior Data Modeler to join their team in Galway. This is a key role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of how data should be structured, while also being comfortable working with senior stakeholders and engineering teams to make sure the right solutions are delivered.

Your Responsibilities

  • Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, data needs and any gaps or challenges.
  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models across a range of projects.
  • Partner with engineering teams to turn data models and designs into robust, scalable database solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, ensuring solutions are well-designed and built for the long term rather than simply taking the quickest route.
  • Identify opportunities to reuse and extend existing enterprise data models, reducing duplication and improving consistency.
  • Investigate and resolve complex data issues across development, project and production environments.
  • Clearly document and present data models and database solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with DBAs, architects, engineers and subject matter experts to ensure data solutions meet both technical and business needs.

Your Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience across data modelling, data analysis and/or database development.

  • Strong experience creating conceptual, logical and physical data models.

  • Hands-on experience with a data modelling tool.

  • Strong database development experience, with Oracle experience highly relevant.

  • Good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with experience working with data warehouses or large-scale data environments.

  • Experience with Snowflake would be beneficial.

  • Financial Services experience would be advantageous.
